The details are there in easy to read language. The course is designed and created by Jane. Broken up into 6 modules, each module ends with a test (4 question assignment). This program is to be completed within one year and a diploma is issued upon satisfactory completion of all modules and final exam.
DESCRIPTION OF WHAT EACH MODULE ENTAILS:
Modules 1-3
Physical and emotional changes moms-to-be experience during pregnancy; development of the fetus through each trimester. Also covers recommended asanas, pranayama, relaxation and meditation techniques. There are relevant recommendations/modifications for each stage of pregnancy and a list of precautions to be observed.
Module 4
Included in this module are optimal fetal positioning (OFP). How to encourage the baby into the best position 2-3 weeks before birth. Also, postures and breathing techniques to assist mother and baby during labor and delivery, postnatal recovery and how and when to resume yoga practice safely and effectively from the day after delivery till the standard 6 weeks check up and beyond.
Module 5
Covers the mechanics of c-section and post c-section practice, diastasis recti (abdominal muscle separation (AMS), combining pre and postnatal classes or including postnatal students in general classes.
Module 6
Partner yoga - detailed instruction on introducing and teaching partner yoga to a prenatal class or to expectant moms and their partners in a special class. Also, the importance of transforming fear of childbirth into a joyful, positive experience through hypnobirthing.
This course fulfills the Yoga Alliance's CE non-contact three year requirement (20 CE's). The course is open to yoga teachers (with 200 hour certification), midwives and healthcare professionals wanting to specialize in teaching yoga to pregnant ladies.
